Finally, I wanted to figure out if STDs correlated with the AIDS rate because over the years, I have heard that St. Louis had one of the worst rates of STDs in the nation. I heard this in both middle school from friends and my health teacher and in high school from friends, family and my school nurse. I correlated three STDs, syphilis, gonorrhea and Chlamydia, because I had heard so much about them throughout my life. Although the AIDS rate did not correlate with syphilis, it correlated tremendously with gonorrhea and Chlamydia. The confidence value was at 99% for both Gonorrhea and Chlamydia which had a positive correlation coefficient of 0.41472187 and 0.57703538 respectively.
