In St. Louis, one of the major issues is racial inequality due to how centralized the races are to specific areas. The downtown city area is predominantly black while the areas outlying the city limits are predominantly white. You can almost name any zip code in St. Louis and tell if it is predominantly white or black. For instance, 63115 – Black; 63106 – Black; and 63131 – White. Seeing this disparity, I thought that race would correlate significantly with the AIDS rate.

The percentage of the population of whites correlated with the AIDS rate at the 99% confidence interval with a negative correlation coefficient of -0.538567.

The percentage of the population of blacks also correlated with the AIDS rate at the99% confidence interval with a positive correlation coefficient of 0.518986.

I decided to find the correlation of the AIDS Rate with other races such as Hispanic and other, but I found no correlations.
