-Easter Island is home to three major volcanic formations: Poike (300 m), Rano Kau (>400 m) and Terevaka (>500)9, pg. 53

 -The island also features over 70 subsidiary vents including Raraku, the source of the materials used to carve the famous stone Moai.

-Easter Island is also known by the names: Rapa Nui (indigenous name), and Isla de Pascua (Spanish, as the island is owned by Chile)
