Interesting facts: 

Large earthquakes and volcanic tremors occurred before the eruption in June 1951.²

The eruption in April of 1995 lasted two months (see Eruption of 1995 for more details).²

Between 1500 and 1760 The Cha caldera on top of Fogo erupted so continuously that sailors used it as a lighthouse.²

There was an eruption in 1847 that caused fatalities (yea, Fogo is pretty sweet).²

An earthquake killed individuals in 1847 also (wooot).²

The eruption of 1847 developed at least seven openings and produced "streams of lava."³
