In conclusion, with the identified issues of poverty, uneducation, high HIV and AIDS rates, and a strongly African American community, the Northside is definitely in trouble. However, 15233 can be assisted greatly by programs like the “Bridge to Prevention” campaign which encompasses peer referral, the church, group counseling, and bus boxes. These programs will all help to reduce the increasing HIV rate, further reducing the AIDS rate for upcoming years if employed properly. Pittsburgh has the social, financial and institutional resources to help this Northside community, the only question now is: will they do it?
