Some interesting data found that correlated with the AIDS rates were transportation and plumbing facilities. The transportation correlations with the AIDS rates produced negative results or none at all. The percent of the total workers and percent of whites that drove alone or carpooled in a car, truck or van correlated negatively with the AIDS rates. The results delivered correlations of .358 and .345 respectively (Refer to scatter plots 20&21).

The correlation insinuates that people who can afford to take other means of transportation besides public transportation are better off financially. They are therefore more privileged within society and live in communities not affected by the disease. The percent of the total population lacking complete plumbing facilities correlated to the AIDS rates positively. The percent of the total population with complete facilities was the absolute opposite of the previous mentioned; having coefficients of .33 and -.33 correspondingly (Refer to scatter plots 22& 23).

Correlations were also made in conjunction with different races and their lack of or possession of plumbing facilities. Hispanic and African American households lacking plumbing facilities had positive correlations with the AIDS rates. The coefficients equaled .348 and .53 (Refer to scatter plots 24&26).

This reiterates the idea that individuals living in isolated communities lack the necessary resources they need to maintain healthy living conditions and are therefore prone to the negative circumstances of their surroundings. The ultimate correlation made was between the AIDS rates and syphilis rates divided by regions instead of zip codes.

The result was the most prominent as it correlated positively well above the confidence interval of 95%. It was 99.9% correlated with a coefficient of .95. The results from this data concluded that the risk of contracting HIV was higher when affected with another sexually transmitted infection such as syphilis.
