Knowing that education level often correlates with certain health issues, I looked at the correlation between the cumulative AIDS rate and education level. I found that the correlation coefficient between the cumulative AIDS rate and the percentage with less than a high school degree is -0.762. I was surprised by this because I expected the opposite. However, I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that more of the jobs in southern New Hampshire require higher education than the jobs in more rural northern New Hampshire.
