Using a similar idea to that of median household income and wealth, the next correlation which was examined was private vehicle occupancy for workers 16 years old and above. Once again, there was a negative correlation between the AIDS rate and car ownership rate, the figures being -.79953 and -.81864 for living and cumulative AIDS rates, respectively (p. 5). It would appear this correlation would be similar to median household income since wealth usually equates to being able to purchase amenities, in this case a car.
