Trenton only has two major newspaper and they are the “Trenton Times” and the “Trentonian”. Aside from local news both these papers report what is occurring in the state of New Jersey as well. Through my research on both of the websites for the newspapers, it seems as though the first real talk about AIDS in Trenton was in 2004 and these articles discus the many aspects of the virus. It is mentioned in previous years but not in much detail. The most recent article discuses the needle exchange program put into effect by Governor Jon Corzine. This program allows syringes to be sold without a prescription. Trenton tries to promote AIDS awareness through the Annual AIDS walk and different types of in-services that are held at local churches and by other organizations. The only other information that Trenton receives about HIV/AIDS is through television ads and the radio.
