Conclusion
It is clear that Puerto Rican women and adolescents need assistance and education about AIDS. The women are affected by their lack of education about AIDS, the pressure of the “female role” in the Latino community, and abuse. Adolescents are suffering due to the outrageous health curriculum that desperately needs to be altered. The health seminar as well as the “lunch with a punch” program are both projects that would positively affect the Puerto Rican community and prevent the spread of HIV as well as other STDs.
