Economics
Another bunch of demographics that correlated as predicted were economic factors.
There is an obvious link between the poor and the smaller degree of treatment that they
receive. Whereas wealthy individuals may simply worry about sticking to their treatment
regimen, those less well off are more likely to be concerned with their next meal and not
their next sunrise. Among the economic factors that were correlated with HIV or AIDS,
all behaved as were predicted and the strongest relationship (r = 0.713275147,
r = 0.572716974) was between HIV and % of people on Public Assistance (general
assistance and temporary assistance to needy families). One thing to note was that among
all the correlations between HIV or AIDS and an economic indicator, the correlations with
HIV were significantly higher in magnitude. One could reason once again that HIV is
spreading at a faster rate than ever before.
