Living Arrangements

Students are strongly encouraged to take advantage of housing arranged by Colgate University. Colgate holds all apartment leases and bills students for their housing. Students are normally paired with one or more apartment-mates.

Where Are Students Housed?

Students are housed in furnished or unfurnished, one- or two-bedroom apartments at the Congressional Towers Apartment Complex, or three-bedroom townhouses at the Rollins Park Complex. Both Congressional Towers and Rollins Park are located in Rockville, MD, within two Metro stops of the NIH. These housing complexes provide safe, pleasant housing within walking distance of shopping, banking, recreation and other services. Many residents are research scientists and their families visiting NIH from around the world, giving the area a distinctive international flavor. The convenience to the Metro (a short 10-minute walk) and shopping means that one can experience an enriching semester relying soley on public transportation. Although parking at the aprtments is ample, a car is not necessary.

What Are Some Other Aspects of Student Life?

The Metro underground public transportation system is a 10-minute walk from Congressional Towers and Rollins Park. Two stops south, the Metro stops on the MIH campus. The Metro provides access to Washington, DC, and all the cultural and governmental opportunities of our nation's exciting Capital city.
