| In addition to writing exercises and seminar presentations,
there will be a take-home midterm but no final examination. Instead of a final, you will
complete a research paper on a topic related to the course material and give an oral
presentation to the class at the end of the semester. The goal of these assignments is to
help you think, write, and speak better at an early stage in your college career! Please
note that course assignments will not be accepted late (unless your Class Dean notifies
me of a serious illness or family emergency); please plan ahead!!
- last minute computer/printer/xerox malfunctions are unacceptable reasons for incomplete
or late assignments. Participation in class, enthusiasm, and improvement in performance through
the semester will also count in your favor when deciding the final grade.
