CONCLUSION:
Making policies regarding AIDS/HIV requires critical thinking and consideration of all factors that play a role in AIDS. Some factors are out of our control such as changing people’s beliefs about AIDS. Although collective counseling may help in reducing AIDS stigma, others who remain stubborn regarding their beliefs will remain an obstacle towards the prevention of AIDS/HIV. However, I believe that the proposed plan is one step forward towards the reduction of AIDS rate in East Elmhurst. If the same program can be implemented in other areas of high AIDS rate, these rates will be lower.
