Why I guessed so high?
Guessing the number of HIV/AIDS cases in Oneida County, and my hometown Utica, NY, was seemingly rational. I did not guess to high or low, at the most off just a few numbers. One may ask why were your numbers so close? In response I would answer think about it like this. Oneida County is seemingly very small compared to others. Utica’s 69,000 are the second biggest in the county. In rationalization I would say that Oneida County is relatively clean and for the most part drug free.
I was asked how many cumulative HIV/AIDS cases were diagnosed in Utica through 2005? I answered 210 because Utica was a booming City in the 60’s, then population began to decrease, becoming almost a dead town. Referring to table 1, you can see that by adding 13501 and 13502, the two governing zip codes of Utica, my number was not far off.
