Clearly, there is an HIV/AIDS problem in Indiana County, but there are also many measures being taken to solve that problem.  Based on my research findings from journals and my contact with those active in the AIDS community in Indiana County, my biggest suggestion to solve Indiana County’s problems is to improve and increase HIV/AIDS education.  Indiana County is still a particularly conservative county, and many parents and administrators are uncomfortable with talking about sexual activity, condom use, homosexuality, and intravenous drug use as part of an HIV/AIDS curriculum28.30.  However these barriers must be crossed in order to provide crucial education to not only stop the spread of AIDS, but to relieve the burden of AIDS-associated stigma to improve the lives of those living with AIDS.
