If I were to assume the role of a public health official I would be very alarmed at the lack of possible reasons for such high AIDS rate. What am I missing? Orange County is not diverse enough for the sole problem AIDS to rest on the African American community. My next step would be to get information about the Intravenous Drug Use in the area. This is the only thing that I can think of that could be a problem that is traceable to Orange County specifically. Of course we still have a high risk of all sorts of things simply due to out proximity to the city. A concerned health official would look into a solution to this as well. What do you do for a community who very livelihoods depend on many of them going into the city five days out of the week? |
